Hyundai IONIQ 6 Sweeps World Car of the Year, World Electric Vehicle and World Car Design of the Year
Hyundai Motor Company’s acclaimed IONIQ 6 Electrified Streamliner has won the prestigious World Car of the Year, World Electric Vehicle and World Car Design of the Year, lauded by an international jury for its unique aerodynamic design and outstanding all-electric range. World Car Awards revealed the results at a ceremony held at the New York International Auto Show (NYIAS) today.
A jury of 100 automotive journalists from 32 countries chose IONIQ 6 from the top three finalists, all launched in 2022. This is Hyundai’s second straight triple honors at the World Car Awards. Last year, the jury named IONIQ 5 the winner in the same categories.

New Hyundai IONIQ 6 named ‘Best Company Car’ at 2023 Autocar Awards
IONIQ 6 has picked up another top honour, this time from the experts at Autocar Business, who have named it as their "Best Company Car" for 2023. The judges said “The IONIQ 6 is quite a statement."
The IONIQ 6 emerged triumphant ahead of a number of contenders from established premium manufacturers in the ‘Best Company Car’ category, with Autocar’s panel of expert judges particularly impressed by the Hyundai’s bold design and advanced electric powertrain.
"It’s unsurprising that Hyundai’s second flagship EV, the IONIQ 6, makes an instant impression with its looks. Hyundai’s styling has become among the most innovative on the market and it has really pushed the envelope with its EVs. An extroverted streamlined saloon may not be the most obvious choice of company car, but at a time when car parks are heavy on identikit crossovers, the IONIQ 6 is quite a statement. At the same time, it is a cutting-edge EV offering 800v architecture, ultra-fast charging, a large battery, good mechanical efficiency and a class-leading range. Add to that generous rear seat space and enjoyable driving manners, and it is plainly a highly impressive electric car."

Hyundai IONIQ 6 is Euro NCAP’s ‘Best in Class’ Car 2022 in the ‘Large Family Car’ category
The European New Car Assessment Programme (Euro NCAP) has announced the best-rated cars of 2022 in terms of safety. Last year was the independent vehicle assessment organisation’s busiest-ever year, as it tested 66 new passenger cars. In a further demonstration of Hyundai’s EV leadership, the company’s IONIQ 6 Electrified Streamliner was awarded ‘Best in Class’ in the ‘Large Family Car’ category.
To define the Euro NCAP ‘Best in Class’, a calculation is made of the weighted sum of the scores in each of the four areas of assessment: ‘Adult Occupant Protection’, ‘Child Occupant Protection’, ‘Vulnerable Road User Protection’ and ‘Safety Assist’. This sum is used by the organisation as the basis for comparison of the vehicles. Cars qualify for ‘Best in Class’ based only on their rating with standard safety equipment. Additional ratings based on optional equipment are excluded.
IONIQ 6’s victory in the ‘Large Family Car’ category follows on from its successful Euro NCAP safety test last year. In November 2022, it was announced that the latest model of Hyundai’s all-electric IONIQ line-up brand was awarded with the maximum five-star rating.

Ioniq 6 Named ‘Saloon of the Year’ at 2023 GQ Car Awards
Hyundai has picked up another prestigious honour for its ever-growing trophy cabinet as the new, all-electric Ioniq 6 was crowned ‘Saloon of the Year’ at the 2023 GQ Car Awards in association with Michelin.
The annual awards seek to identify the world’s finest vehicles, and this year the changing landscape of the car industry was reflected as British GQ decided that all the winners should feature some form of electrification. The expert team of judges said their aim was to recognise models that are “inspiring, have integrity and get pulses racing.”
The Hyundai Ioniq 6 emerged as the number one choice in the hotly contested ‘Saloon of the Year’ category, with the judges particularly impressed by the model’s unique Streamliner design.
"From hotter-than-the-sun hatches and sensational SUVs to elegant EVs and killer concepts, everyone knows Hyundai's ambitious design team are having a moment, and the Ioniq 6 continues the brand’s remarkable run.
