IONIQ 5 N features a wide range of additional performance-enhancing design elements, such as the wing-type rear spoiler, which enhance the sporty aspects of the IONIQ 5 and maximise its track driving potential.

Front.
In the front, the bumper features an N Mask graphic fascia with functional mesh, supported by an air curtain and active air flaps for extra cooling. A lip spoiler runs across the lower part of the bumper to emphasise the car’s low-slung stance and convey its performance intent.

Rear.
At the rear, the prominent, wing-type N spoiler supports optimal aerodynamic performance – assisted by the rear diffuser and air outlet with their eye-catching Luminous Orange accents – further highlighting IONIQ 5 N’s high-performance capability and enhancing its aggressive styling.

Hyundai Motor Company continued its winning streak at the World Car Awards today with the IONIQ 5 N high-performance electric vehicle (EV) named the 2024 World Performance Car. This is Hyundai IONIQ 5 lineup’s fourth major World Car Awards win in the last three years. Today’s victory solidifies IONIQ 5 N’s position as a frontrunner in the market as it continues to outpace EV rivals with its outstanding high-performance technology.
Introduced in July 2023 as Hyundai N’s first EV, IONIQ 5 N represents a new segment of driver-focused high-performance EVs through new technologies and elevated racetrack capability, signaling the first step in N’s electrification strategy. It combines the standard IONIQ 5’s Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP) with N’s motorsport-bred technologies and leverages N’s expertise from electrified ‘Rolling Labs’ to maximize the EV’s high-performance capabilities. IONIQ 5 N has been widely praised in the media as ‘groundbreaking’, a ‘game-changer’, and the ‘benchmark’ for high-performance EVs. Hyundai’s IONIQ 5 N electric hyper hatch has made a storming start to life by being crowned Car of the Year at the 2023 TopGear.com Awards.
The IONIQ 5 N was revealed earlier this year at July’s Goodwood Festival of Speed, where it received universal acclaim as a thrilling new option for driving enthusiasts looking to electrify their passion on both road and track, and as a pioneering technological blueprint for the Hyundai N division’s EV future.
The high-performance model combines the Electrified-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP) of the standard IONIQ 5 – the 2022 World Car of the Year – with N’s motorsport-bred technologies and expertise to take driving fun to a new level. And it’s this unswerving focus on delivering maximum enjoyment and excitement behind the wheel that persuaded TopGear’s expert team of judges to name the car the best of the past 12 months.
"Hyundai’s engineers set out to make the IONIQ 5 N feel like a lairy petrol car, but became converts to what electrification could do.
